In 2012, IHN adopted the national network name of Family Promise. Family Promise/IHN provides shelter, meals, and companionship for homeless families, with 67% of its clients being children. Other support comes in the form of comprehensive case management, including counseling, social services, and music therapy. 95% of clients find permanent housing, and with the benefit of Family Promise’s follow-up care, 95% of them are able to maintain it.
RRC is proud to be part of this vital mission, and thankful to the many devoted servants who make it possible. We are blessed with a very dedicated group of volunteers who help with arrivals, departures, shopping, laundry, meals, weekend shifts, and overnights. We are fortunate to also have Three Bridges Reformed and First Unitarian Universalist serving as support churches by covering a portion of each hosting week, and a number of volunteers from North Branch Reformed contributing on a regular basis. In addition, the area Boy and Girl Scout troops provide much appreciated assistance. Together we hosted six weeklong stays during the past year, and offered the use of our facility for another two weeks around the Thanksgiving holiday.
